Confidentiality

For Tutors:

As an employee of Tutoring Services, I understand that I may have access to confidential information about the students I am tutoring. I am aware that I may receive verbal or written communication with my Supervisor, instructors, and students concerning their course grades, personal issues, etc. which should be kept confidential. I also understand that employment with Tutoring Services means that I must take responsibility to preserve the confidentiality of this information and that failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the termination of my employment.

For Clients:

I understand that any personal information disclosed to my tutor(s) and the Tutoring Coordinator will remain confidential. However, my attendance, progress, and participation may be appropriately discussed between the Tutoring Coordinator, my instructor(s), and othe relevant staff in the following situations:

  • The student states that he/she plans to hurt his/herself or someone else.
  • The student is on academic alert/probation.
  • The student is not on academic alert or probation, but may be encountering some personal challenges during a semester, such as an illness or an accident, that create a barrier to success.
