Where can I find the books in the library?

On the main level of the library, you can find the reference collection (materials that must be used in the library), juvenile and curriculum materials (materials with a 1 week checkout period), and music (materials with a 1 week checkout period.  The circulating book collection is located on the lower level, and these items have a 6 week checkout period for students and a 1 semester checkout period for faculty and staff.

Can I check out books from other CLIC libraries?
Yes.  If an item found in CLICnet is available for check-out at another CLIC library, you may click on the Request Item button. The item will be sent to the CLIC library that you choose.  You will be contacted via email when the item arrives at your chosen library.  We will hold it for you for 10 days.

How can I receive books if I live outside of the Twin Cities?

Students living outside of the Twin Cities metro area can request to have items mailed to their home.  They can request these items through the library catalog, CLICnet.  When you find an item that you want to check out, click on the  Request Item button.  You will receive an e-mail when the item arrives at the library.  Reply to the message requesting that the item(s) be mailed to you.  The only cost for you is the return postage.

Can I renew my books?

After the initial checkout, a book may be renewed two more times.  For general items the additional renewal is 4 weeks, and for children’s and curriculum items the additional renewal is 1 week.  Interlibrary Loan book renewal will depend on the policies of the lending library.  Check with the Reference department via phone at (651) 641-8812 or e-mail at for more information

How can I renew my CLICnet books?

You may come to the library and ask the circulation desk worker to renew your book, call the library circulation desk at 651-641-8237 and ask that your books be renewed, or renew them online through the library catalog.

In order to renew books online go to the library catalog, CLICnet and choose the login link.  Log in using your name and barcode; this information can be found on your student ID card.  A record of the items you have checked out will appear.  Click on the link for these items, check the boxes of the items you want to renew, and click on the Renew button.
