Twin Cities Single Lutheran Adults (TCSLA)
TCSLA announces the availability of a $600 scholarship for college students in the Twin Cities area.
A grant of $600 will be awarded to a Lutheran college student.
Applicants must be a legal resident of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, a membe of a Lutheran church and a sophomore or junior at a Lutheran college in the United States. The scholarship will be used to help defray expenses of the junior or senior year and will be awarded on the basis of character, need and academic record.

Audrey Erskine Scholarship Application
The Audrey Erskine scholarship is in the amount of $350 to $500. The recipient of the scholarship award will be selected from juniors and seniors enrolled in a college or university, which prepares students for a teaching career in the preschool, elementary, or secondary level in Minnesota.
Applicants must be:
- Pursing a course of study to become a teacher at the preschool, elementary, or secondary level.
- Be a current member of Education Minnesota Student Program.
- Currently a student in their junior or senior year of college.

Vincent L. Hawkinson Foundation
This scholarship is looking for students who demonstrate a commitment to peace and justice through:
o A specific project
o Leadership in a peace/justice organization
o A courageous demonstration of commitment
o Served as a role model for others.
This scholarship is not based on financial need or religious affiliation.
The Hawkinson Foundation intends to award at least $20,000 in scholarships in 2008 to mark its 20th year anniversary. 8 to 10 applicants are usually invited to interview in Minneapolis in May. The application essay and supporting reference letter are critical in deciding whom to invite for an interview. Final selection depends on the scholarship committee’s impressions.

The Oneida Scholarship fund of the West Seventh Community Center
Individual grants up to $1,200 available to residents planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a certificate or degree granting post-secondary education/training program.
Funds can be used for education/training and/or expenses that will enable the adult learner to pursue education/training.
Criteria
o Must be 18 years old by September 2008
o Must live in the West Seventh area (between downtown St. Paul and Fort Snelling, I35E and the Mississippi River)
o Demonstrate financial need relating to successful completion of the program
o Demonstrate capacity for success in pursuing post-secondary education/training
Completed applications must be submitted to the West Seventh Community Center or post-marked no later than March 1, 2008.

Scholarship Renewed
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.

Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.

ALPHA ALPHA Education Scholarship
This is the sixteenth year the Roseville Alpha Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Honorary Teachers’ organization of Women Educators, will be awarding $500+ scholarships to children of Roseville School District 623 employees or any Roseville Area High School District 623 graduate who is a college senior or a post graduate student majoring in education. The scholarship is for the recipient’s senior college year – the 2008-2009 school year. Applications are due no later than February 16, 2008. Last year two $750 scholarships were given out.
The recipients will be recognized at the annual Roseville Areas PTA scholarship Reception in May 2008. Applications are available in the BEAR Center.

AFVA-MN Scholarship
The Minnesota Affiliate of the American Foundation of Vision Awareness is pleased to announce that the organization is offering two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to students entering any school of optometry during the 2008-2009 year. These scholarships are being awarded to Minnesota residents only. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2008.
Eligibility:
1. The applicant is following an academic course of study that will qualify the student for admission to a school of optometry in the fall of 2008.
2. The applicant is un the upper one third of his/her class in the academic term last completed prior to the date of application.
To Apply:
A. A letter of application stating the background, interests, and activities of the application.
B. A statement of not more than one typewritten page each on the following subjects.

C. A certified transcript of all college credits completed at the time of application.
D. Two letters of recommendation, preferably from teachers or school officials, indicating character, personality, leadership ability, etc.

As a basis for final selection, the Foundation will request a telephone or a face-to-face interview. The applicant will be notified of the interview arrangements in advance of the interview.

American Heart Association
In 1969, the Helen N & Harold B. Shapira undergraduate scholarship was established to assist young men and women pursuing degrees in medicine and science. This $1,000 scholarship award is given annually to an undergraduate student enrolled in a four year Minnesota college or university and working in a medically related curriculum with potential application to patients with diseases of the heart and blood vessel system.
Recipients will be chosen by the Minnesota Scholarship Committee of the American Heart Association, Greater Midwest Affiliate. Successful candidates will be eligible for a renewal of the $1,000 Award for a second year provided they maintain satisfactory scholastic progress.

St. Paul Branch Scholarship Trust
American Association of University Women
The St. Paul Branch of the American Association of University (AAUW) is offering a $2000 scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year to a woman over twenty-five years of age who is enrolled in a two-year or four-year degree program at an accredited college or university. Selection will be based on financial need, scholastic achievement, life experience and an interview. Preference will be given to a woman from the St. Paul area.

North Suburban Communications Commission Annual Scholarship

Eligibility information:
Applicants must:
1. Reside in the cities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Moundsview, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, St. Anthony, or Shoreview.
2. Must attend an accredited institution
3. Must have received a high school degree or its equivalent and be able to demonstrate that they will have completed one academic year of post-high school studies by the time the scholarship is awarded, usually in June.
4. Must have a primary field of study of Mass Communications, Journalism, Television Production or a similar course of study.
