"In-the-Cities" Courses
In The Cities classes - experiential learning at it finest!!
The School of Continuing Studies offers weekend courses that begin Friday evening and run through Sunday afternoon. Students find that these unique courses provide wonderful introductions to the local art scene and venues, as well as, provide insight into the artistic, entertainment and business aspects that interact to inform our shared cultural experience.
Students, and visitiing students may earn 3 credits for any of the "In the Cities" classes but non-credit participants are welcomed to join these events. Transportation for the CSP campus is provided to all locations. Theater in the City- December This class introduces students to theater productions throughout the Twin Cities. Cummunity and local productions as well as national touring companies. Guthrie Ordway Theater The Old Log Theater Jungle Theater Hennipen Theatre District and many others.
Spring Class: World Music in the City -April This course will explore diverse cultural music from around the globe. Excursions include venues like the Cedar Cultural Center or performers are invited on campus.
Summer: Arts in the City:- July Participants will spend a weekend visiting local art museums and attending musical and theatrical events. Typical venues include: Theater performances Art Institute Orchestra Hall Weisman
