A Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is now available at Concordia University, St. Paul within the recently announced College of Business and Organizational Leadership (CBOL). The MBA program educates future leaders with a practical business approach that includes rigorous academics, real-life business projects, and entrepreneurial insight. These academics are delivered using Concordia's innovative cohort online class model. In addition to Concordia's CBOL being the second largest business college among private universities in Minnesota, the MBA program is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association.
Concordia's innovative cohort structure has a 20-year track record of success that assembles student teams of up to 20 members who stay together for the duration of the 22-month degree program. Cohort learning is a highly effective educational process where students collaborate with a community of peers who learn and work together, mirroring business project teams.
"While there are many types of business degree programs in the area, we have designed this MBA for students with proven leadership skills," said Dr. Robert Holst, president of the university. "Education should build professional skills that are required in business today and in the future. Executives need a solid foundation of business theory as well as practical application."
Concordia's MBA program features an exclusive collegiate partnership with nationally known author and futurist Joel Barker and the Institute for Strategic Exploration. The partnership gives students access to cutting-edge strategic planning software developed by Barker, including the Institute's Strategy Matrix and Implications Wheel software. The Strategy Matrix and Implication Wheel, utilized for the duration of the degree program, gives students significant tools to explore business design strategies, examine long-term implications of strategies, and develop effective business models. This software is available in the education setting only to students in Concordia University's MBA program.
The Concordia MBA program was designed for learners with strong business and leadership experience who are on their way to becoming senior executives and business leaders. During the program, students will develop a unique Managerial Application Portfolio (MAP) which contains work plans, projects, research and other applications.
