California Lures Heinemann to New Financial Aid Post
President Holst this week announced that he has accepted the resignation of Brian Heinemann, vice president for Admission and Marketing. Heinemann joined Concordia University in September 2002 as director of Financial Aid. He was subsequently appointed director of the BEAR Center and, in July 2006, was named to his current post. Heinemann leaves Concordia to become the director of Financial Aid at Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree, Calif., where he also will lead the college’s implementation of a new administrative computing system (not Banner!) in conjunction with his financial aid responsibilities.
“I have enjoyed my time at CSP and learned a lot about how hard others work to move CSP forward,” Heinemann said. “I admire Concordia’s openness to change and appreciate the support of the campus to try to things that may benefit students or increase enrollment. So many people here have touched my heart and I will always consider them close to me.” Heinemann’s last day at CSP will be Feb. 28, but he plans to provide “off-site” support for a short time to ensure a smooth transition. “Brian has brought a broad range of gifts to Concordia,” said University President Bob Holst. “He is a confident and successful leader whose integrity and candor have inspired his colleagues. He has been a blessing to Concordia University and we wish him blessings on this next step on his career path.”
