Cover Letters

A cover letter is a companion document to your resume and should act as your "sales pitch". Your resume provides the facts about your experiences, education, and skills. Your cover letter describes how you meet the requirements of the job and why you are a good candidate. It should answer the question "Why should I hire this person?"

Just as your resume should be unique to you, your cover letters should also be unique. Samples and templates can help get you started but your final product should be specific for the job you are applying for.
