Vehicle Registration Program Facts For Students
Why register my vehicle?
The Concordia University Security Department strongly suggests that all members of the Concordia University community register their motor vehicles. Registration with the Security Department allows us to find and notify the owner of a vehicle as soon as possible if there is an issue with your vehicle. Problems might include but are not limited to: snow emergency plowing on city streets, street-cleaning, vehicle accidents, or a no parking area regulated by the city of St. Paul or the Concordia University Security Department. Being able to inform the owner could possibly save them from having to pay unwanted towing expenses or fines. By registering your vehicle Concordia Security would be able to inform you if your vehicle is vandalized or if a theft. Concordia University is not responsible for theft from vehicles parked on university property nor for the towing of vehicles due to violations of St. Paul parking regulations.
Where can I park my vehicle?
By obtaining a FREE parking permit Concordia University students can park in lots C, D, E, F, G, and H. (Registration does not guarantee a parking space)
Students also have the option of parking on the street. A permit is not needed for street parking but it is strongly suggested that students who choose to use strictly street parking register their vehicles.
Lots D, H and E are available for overnight parking. These lots are locked each night from 1:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m.
How and when do I register my vehicle?
Vehicle registration takes place during the first week of school at the welcome week activities.
Vehicle registration can also be done throughout the year at the Security office located in the classroom tunnel.
Upon registering their vehicle, students, staff and faculty are given a copy of the complete parking policies.
