SELECTED RESEARCH DATABASES

  • Mathematics ArXiv - Search or browse for articles in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and physics.  Maintained by Cornell University.
  • JSTOR - This database includes searchable full-text backfiles of core scholarly journals in Math and Statistics.
  • ProQuest - Abstracts and selected full text of articles in a wide range of magazines and journals. It includes general interest and news publications as well as selected scholarly journals.
  • Academic Search Premier - This general scholarly collection offers information in nearly every area of academic study.
  • Highwire Press - Portal to online versions of high-impact (more than 70 of the 200 most-frequently-cited journals in science are hosted), peer-reviewed science journals provided by the Standford University Library. Some full-text is available.
  • Directory of Open Access Journals - A site that collects free open access journals from a number of sources.

  • BearHunt - Use this tool to search multiple databases and CLICnet at one time to find books, journal articles, government documents, and other resources:

  • Google Scholar - Google provides a search interface for schlarly information. After searching, look for "Full-Text @ Concordia" next to the article title. Results are often sloppy, redundant, or lead to dead ends.

Finding Books 

CATALOGS

  • CLICnet : Joint catalog which spans the collections of the libraries at Concordia, Augsburg, Bethel, St. Cate's, Hamline, Macalester, Northwestern, and St. Thomas. Request items from other libraries using your name and barcode number (located on bottom front of your Concordia ID)

  • Mathematics - edited by Barry Max Brandenberger, Jr - Explores the functions of math in daily life, as well as its role as a tool for measurement, data analysis, and technological development.
