Research Databases

  • Academic Search Premier: Most areas of Academic study, including education  
  • Directory of Open Access Journals: Full-text, scholarly, open-access journals 
  • Educator's Reference Complete: Provides full-text results for nearly half of the titles found in ERIC, a citation only database, and covers multiple levels of education from preschool to college and includes every educational specialty, such as bilingual studies, health, technology and testing. Also included are resources on issues related to administration, funding and policy in education. 
  • ERIC: "Consists primarily of bibliographic records describing journal and non-journal    literature selected from 1966-2003.  In the months and years ahead, the collection will expand to include the full-text articles along with other electronic resources such as audio and video materials.  ERIC Digests can be accessed through this database as well.
  • Professional Collection: More than 300 full-text journals for educators. 
  • Professional Development Collection: Designed for professional educators, this database provides a highly specialized collection of nearly 520 high quality education journals, including more than 350 peer-reviewed titles. This database also contains more than 200 educational reports. 
  • ProQuest Education Journals: Full text of almost 400 education journals (coverage 1988-present)
  • Sage Journals Online: Search Sage scholarly journals in many areas including Education, Psychology, and Sociology

  • Britannica Online Kids Edition: Version of the Encyclopedia Britannica for use by children.
  • Britanica Online School Edition: Britannica Online School Edition gives teachers and students instant access to four complete encyclopedias and other resources that ensure consistency with classroom topics and age-appropriate language.
  • InfoTrac Junior Edition (Gale): Periodical database designed for junior high/middle school students.
  • InfoTrac Kid's Edition (Gale): Periodical database designed for elementary school students.
  • InfoTrac Student Edition (K12) (Gale): Periodical database designed for high school students.
  • Junior Reference Collection (Gale): Comprehensive, cross-curricular database for schools and libraries.
  • Kids InfoBits (Gale): Meets the research needs of students in kindergarten through grade 5 with a visually graphic interface.
  • Student Resource Center Gold (Gale): Covering the major subject areas, including history, literature, science, social studies and more, Student Resource Center provides a premium selection of reference, thousands of full-text periodicals and newspapers, primary documents, creative works, and multimedia, including hours of video and audio clips and podcasts.
  • MAS Ultra School Edition (EBSCO): Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database contains full text for more than 500 popular, high school magazines. MAS Ultra – School Edition also provides more than 360 full text reference books, 84,774 biographies, 105,786 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 440,207 photos, maps & flags, color PDFs and expanded full text backfiles (back to 1975) for key magazines.
  • Middle Search Plus (EBSCO): Middle Search Plus provides full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays. Middle Search Plus also contains 84,774 biographies, 105,786 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 440,207 photos, maps and flags.
  • Primary Search (EBSCO): Primary Search provides full text for more than 70 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990.
