I.L. Course Catalog: Kinesiology Classes
Databases This class will teach students the basics of database searching. Information on searching with keywords, Boolean operators, and subject headings will be presented. Students will learn how to obtain articles not available online in full text.
Web Resources The Supplementary Websites page provides links to various tools for finding reputable websites. This class will show you how to evaluate web sources and how they can enhance your research.
CLICnet Students will be taught how to search the online catalog and the types of information found in CLICnet. They will learn how to use the different features of the catalog such as searching for books in the curriculum collection, requesting books from other CLICnet libraries, and checking their account. Students will learn which print and electronic reference resources are available to kinesiology. They will learn their purpose, how to use them, and the best time in the research process to use them. Non-Print SourcesStudents will be made aware of the non-print resources that are useful in research such as audio-visual materials, computer software, and people. They will be taught how to search for audio-visual materials in CLICnet. Outside Resources
Students will be made aware of resources outside of Concordia Library that may be helpful in their research. Sources covered will be other library catalogs such as MnLINK, digital collections, listservs, research guides, government resources, and human resources. Journals: Print and Online
