Mission:
Utilizing a holistic approach, Concordia St. Paul's Learning Services will empower students to take responsibility for their lives and educational goals and stay and succeed at Concordia University.
The learning assistance program teaches skills and strategies to help students become independent and active learners and to achieve academic and personal success. The learning assistance program's mission is accomplished through collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators in addressing learning needs, academic performance, and retention of students.
All students are welcome and encouraged to use these services. Encourage your students to stop by. Students should feel free to browse through the resources and spend time in the area. Students are also welcome to sign up with a professional to meet with them personally as needed.
Purposes:
Learning assistance programs aim to address affective and cognitive needs of students attending the university:
- To help all students achieve at their fullest potential.
- To assist students to become independent, self-confident, efficient learners so that they will be better able to meet the university's academic standards.
- To provide a place where faculty members can refer students who need help.
- To offer consultation and resources to faculty concerned about improving student learning.
- To provide continuous opportunity for staff to grow and develop professionally.
- To evaluate all activities and use evaluation forms.
