Next Convocation: Wed, Nov. 18 Noon in the BEC Homelessness Awareness Week: Each year, Concordia University, St. Paul
recognizes "National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week" (Nov.
15-21) with a Convocation speech addressing these important social and
political issues. This year, Concordia will be hosting a panel discussion on
Homeless pets and animals. The distinguished speakers will examine many of the
challenges they face in trying to rescue homeless animals, operate
shelters on tight budgets, and find people to adopt these pets. In
addition, the speakers will also talk about how the recent recession and home
foreclosure situation has affected pets and companion animals. The panel
will include: Mary Ann Cameron: Pet Haven, Kimberly Carrier: The Pet Project, Kathie
Johnson: Animal Humane Society and Christopher Nelson: Feline Rescue. Please
come to this fascinating and awareness building discussion.
