2 Seconds- Button Campaign
COM 309 Intercultural Communication Class Campus Project
Background of the 2 Seconds Button Campaign: It takes about 2 seconds to jump to a conclusion when you first meet someone. CSP is rated #1 in diversity of all MN private colleges and universities.
COM 309 class is raising awareness and creating a more culturally sensitive climate on campus. The class will be wearing buttons for 2 weeks to spark conversations with people that they wouldn't normally interact with. They believe connecting 1-1 is the first step in creating a more culturally sensitive campus.
Psychological research suggests that we all have implicit biases and we tend to favor our own groups. For your interest, we challenge you to take a quiz here: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/.
Join in the conversation and the challenge to step out of your comfort zone! Spread the word!
