Disability Screenings for Students
If a student has a suspected disability, professors, staff or the student themselves can make an appointment for an initial screening. Screenings cannot be done on a drop-in basis due to the nature of the evaluation.
These are subjective screening tools that indicate only if an individual may have a particular weakness in one or more area(s). They do not rule out ESL or low performance issues. Standardized testing may be required to show evidence of a disability that is functionally limiting. Please contact Disability Services to make an appointment and determine if screening for a learning or ADD/ADHD issue may be appropriate for you. Please note that in most cases, objective testing by a professional will be required to determine a disability that is functionally limiting. Disability Services can provide a list of referrals for students who may need additional testing.
