United Minds in Joint Action (UMOJA)
Advisor: Dr. Cheryl Chatman
Description: Foster academic achievement and service, address issues and concerns affecting students of color, promote an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and Create unity among students of multi-cultural heritage within Concordia University and the surrounding community.
Meeting Time: UMOJA meetings are held every other Tuesday at 8:00pm in the Multicultural Room. Everyone is welcome. Please join us!
Events: SEASA/UMOJA Welcome Back Picnic, Can We Talk? Sessions, Black History Month, A Moment in History, Apollo, and attended the Pan African Student Leadership Conference. On various occasions, UMOJA has had joint activities/events with other clubs on campus. They have contributed to events such as movie nights, Game Night, Knollapalooza, Women’s History Month, and the CSP Street Party during Homecoming, tutoring, and other community activities.
