Southeast Asian Student Association (SEASA)

Advisor: Dr. Cheryl Chatman

Description: The goal of SEASA is to promote Southeast Asian identity, unity, understanding and cooperation among SEASA's members and the Concordia University community, to promote academic achievement of members, to develop leadership skills among it's members and to promote communication among it's members and the University community.

Meeting Time: Every other Wednesday (opposite convocation days) from 12pm-1pm. Actual dates TBA.

Events: SEASA had a great year filled with various activities that kicked off with a joint UMOJA-SEASA welcome back picnic, and continued through the semester with a Thanksgiving potluck, Valentine's flower sale, movie night, Asian History Month (which included multi-culture praise night, "A Taste of Asia," and an Asian festival) and an end of the year group event. They also attended Midwest Asian American Students Union (MAASU) Conference and Hmong National Development (HND) Conference.
On various occasions, SEASA has had joint activities/events with other clubs on campus. They have contributed to events such as movie nights, Game Night, Knollapalooza, Women’s History Month, and the CSP Street Party during Homecoming, tutoring, and other community activities.
