Concordia Missions Society (CMS)

Advisor: Phil Johnson

Description: The Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach (OHSCO) sponsors a group of students, faculty, and staff on the campus of Concordia University known as the Concordia Mission Society (CMS). The goals of CMS are to promote Missions on the campus of Concordia University and to offer participants an opportunity to experience mission work in various contexts throughout the United States and the world. CMS is a student-run organization consisting of 7 board members: President, Spiritual Life Coordinator, Secretary, Mini-Missions Coordinator, State-side Trip Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and Treasurer. Members of CMS come from a diverse assortment of classes and programs of study at Concordia.

Meeting Time: Executive Board meets once per month. Additional meetings as needed

Events: We participate in 2 Mission trips during Semester Break (traditionally one stateside and one international) and one during Spring break; reverse Trick or Treating; Mission Meeting; serve at local food shelves; Christmas Caroling at local nursing homes, and work with other clubs and organizations through out the year to do various activities.
