Interviewing Essentials

Interviews are an important - but sometimes stressful - part of the job search process. If you have an interview, it means a potential employer is interested in learning more about you. An interview is also a great way for you to learn more about the employer. Ideally, you are interviewing them in the same way they are interviewing you.  The Interview Guide can help you better understand how to prepare for and be successful in an interview.

Interviewing is not limited to one-on-one in person meetings. Each potential employer may have its own method and structure of how they interview candidates so it's helpful to be prepared for whatever they have planned. These links offer a summary of possible interview structures as well as tips on how to make the most of the experience.

The steps you take after you leave an interview can be very important to the overall impression you make. Sending appropriate thank you notes and/or following up as advised are steps you should take. Click here for tips and samples of how to follow up after an interview.
